“The Coaches Playbook” – Week 8 Review

Week 8 to say the least was successful over at the DFS Headquarters with multiple members turning in a profit.

Like we always like to say in chat, play the good players. That came to fruition this weekend as the quarterback and wide receiver combinations of Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill combined for seven total touchdown while Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf combined for six.

Davante Adams and Robert Woods also went for two scores on Sunday along with Hill and Woods to lead the position in Week 8.

Now for the running backs. Dalvin Cook turned in a monster four-touchdown performance against the Packers to single handily break the slate. Derek Henry put in a solid effort, but nowhere near the production of Cook.

As for the rest of the backs in the higher priced range, you could say they were all a letdown. Value running backs was where it was at this week as DeeJay Dallas, Zack Moss, Giovani Bernard and Nyheim Hines each produced two touchdown efforts.

We cannot forget to mention the $2,400 priced Miami Dolphins defense who also had two touchdowns themselves. Shout out to @nickfromcwe who mentioned them as his cash play defense on the podcast this week.

Let’s take a look at how our coaches picks went this week!

Derrick Henry was a popular pick from our coaches as four out of six selected him as their favorite cash play. He returned 20.2 points on DraftKings and 17.2 points on FanDuel. It might not have been the high score we were hoping for but he did enough to be serviceable in your cash lineups.

Josh Jacobs ended up being the best tournament play of the week, called by @snoopAloop_3. The Raiders back put up 15.8 DK points for $6,200.

@snoopAloop_3 nailed the best stack of the week going with Seattle. The combination of Wilson, Metcalf and Dallas had a slate high 94.6 DK points for a three man stack. @KyleDillard20 had an under the radar play of the Rams with Jared Goff, Cooper Kupp and Woods combining for 70.6 DK points which was the fourth highest team combination on the slate.

For the game stack, @bellmar21 topped all coaches calling the Packers and Vikings matchup. For the Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and Jamal Williams tallied 72 points while the Minnesota side of Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook and either Adam Thielen or Justin Jefferson scored 68.

@nickfromcwe and @snoopAloop_3 continue to stay hot in the touchdown call department as each of their picks, Hill and Adams, each scored twice. @bellmar21 also hit on his call with Brandon Aiyuk.

As mentioned on the podcast, @nickfromcwe and @HQGolfGuy each took Darnell Mooney for the DK value and at a price tag of $3,500 he put up 17.9 points.

For the second week in a row @snoopAloop_3’s value play on FanDuel went over 20 points with Corey Davis (22.8) at $5,400 while @VGo07 was close behind with Aiyuk tallying 19.1 points at $5,900.
