As we are winding down to the All-Star break, Tuesday brings
us a nice five game slate with what should be some high scoring, fast paced
New Orleans and Portland check in at a huge 240 game total
while Houston and Boston trail close behind with a 232 total.
There are still a few pieces of injury news we are waiting for, but here is a quick look at tonight’s slate.
Top of the Key
Damian Lillard ($10,300 DK / $9,800 FD) at New Orleans Pelicans
Lillard has “cooled” off in has past few games. Just meaning that he has not dropped a 70+ point game his last four times out.
His last give game stats are still insane. Dame is averaging 34.6 points and 9 assists during that time while logging 36.9 minutes over that time.
The Blazers and Pelicans have the highest game total at 240 while Portland has the second highest team total, only behind New Orleans, at 118.5 setting up well for Lillard.
The Blazers point guard will be a huge reason if this game hits these total with his 35.66 usage rate (1.53 fantasy points per minute) and could find himself staring at a ceiling game tonight.
Russell Westbrook ($9,900 DK / $10,100 FD) vs. Boston Celtics
Usually I don’t like targeting such high priced guys against Boston, but I can make a case for doing that with Westbrook tonight.
The Rockets have a 117 implied team total tonight and are two point favorites over the Celtics. Westbrook has been in and out of the lineup lately, but over his last five games played his usage rate is 38.29%, scoring 1.44 fantasy points per minute.
The volume is also there for the Thunder point guard. Here are his field goal attempts in his past five games: 33, 28, 24, 28, 29.
I prefer Westbrook to some of the other pay up option tonight as he is always flirting with a triple-double (34.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists over his last five games).
Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.
Chandler Hutchinson ($4,600 DK / 4,600 FD) at Washington Wizards – Has played 28+ minutes in three of his last four games, averaging 0.84 fantasy points per minute. Plus, he gets a matchup with the Wizards tonight.
Lonnie Walker ($3,000 DK / $3,500 FD) at Oklahoma City Thunder – DeMar DeRozan missed last night’s game with back spasms and he is looking highly unlikely to play tonight. Walker could see himself logging additional minutes tonight at the minimum price if he misses again.
Mortiz Wagner ($4,300 DK / $4,200 FD) vs. Chicago Bulls – Played 24 minutes in his third game back from injury. I really like the PF/C eligibility for Wagner at his price tonight against the Bulls.
