Looks like Thursday brings us a four game slate with some not to high game totals. Someone has to win the money right?
The Dallas and Detroit matchup comes in as the highest total at 219.5 which will be played in Mexico City. Boston and Cleveland are also on the second leg of their back to back tonight.
Top of the Key
Luka Doncic ($11,800 DK / $11,800 FD) vs. Detroit Pistons
Doncic has not had a blow up game for a while here as he checks in at a modest 47.28 fantasy points over his past five games. However, he is sporting a 40.48% usage rate and averaging 27 points, 9.4 rebounds and 7.6 assists during that time!
The matchup against the Pistons is pretty neutral, but Doncic can probably be put in the “matchup proof” category moving forward. Detroit has allowed 38 and 35 points to the opposing point guard the past two games.
Dejounte Murray ($5,600 DK / $6,100 FD) vs Cleveland Cavilers
Could the minutes limit finally be lifted for Murray? After hovering around the 25 minute mark this season, he play a season high 32 minutes last time out and put up 31 fantasy points. His price tag today does not match his talent and we could be looking at a ceiling game tonight against a Cleveland team who just played last night.
Speaking of the Cavilers, they are pretty awful defending the point guard position as they are allowing 19.7 points and 4 assists to backup point guards this season.
Murray has also torched Cleveland in the past as he went for 50 and 46 fantasy points against them back in 2017.
Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.
Kevin Porter Jr ($3,600 DK / $4,000 FD) at San Antonio Spurs – He played great last night connecting on 9 of 15 shots. As mentioned, Cleveland is on the second leg of their back to back, Porter Jr. should see good run again tonight.
Jerami Grant ($3,900 DK / $4,300 FD), Mason Plumlee ($3,800 DK / $3,800 FD) and Monte Morris ($3,900 DK / $3,700 FD) vs Portland Trailblazers – Jamal Murray and Paul Millsap are both listed on the injury report today. If one or both sit, I really like the Nuggets value plays tonight.
