What’s up NBA’ers! This will be the debut of the “The 2-3 Zone” article where we will be highlighting two of my favorite plays and three other early interests I have depending on how news breaks.
Thursday offers a nice five game slate (the Miami and Cleveland game is only offered in single game today) so let’s take a quick overview of what we are looking at.
The Clippers and Pelicans bring both the highest game total and fastest pace game today with the Bulls at Bucks and Hawks at Suns not too far behind.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.25″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.25″ custom_padding=”|||” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_image src=”https://dfsheadquarters.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Untitled.png” _builder_version=”4.0.3″ hover_enabled=”0″ align=”center”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.27.4″]
Top of the Key
Devin Booker vs. Atlanta Hawks ($8,100 DK / $9,200 FD)
I don’t have to tell you that Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic and Trae Young are all good plays today. They have great floors and can explode for a 60 burger at any time.
Booker however, I feel has the same ceiling game today against the Hawks. Phoenix, surprisingly, have been playing good basketball to start the year. Booker and the Suns get a slight pace bump tonight with a team implied total sitting at 117. Over Booker’s last five game he is running at a 27% usage rate averaging 35 fantasy points per game (FPPG) while the Hawks are allowing 30+ FPPG over their last 20. This makes Booker great option for cash and tournaments tonight.
Nikola Jokic vs. Brooklyn Nets (8,600 DK / 9,600 FD)
Centers versus Brooklyn. Centers versus Brooklyn. Centers versus Brooklyn. Just keep copy and pasting.
Despite Jokic getting off to a slow start this year, this has everything pointing to be a blow up game for the Nuggets big man. Brooklyn has allowed opposing centers to AVERAGE a double-double over their last 20 games. Jokic has been better as of late, scoring 40+ fantasy points in his last three games and is pushing the 30% usage mark on the season. At this price, he certainly has the potential to out produce his price tag.
Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks throughout the day.
Spencer Dinwiddie ($5,700 DK / 5,500 FD) and Taurean Prince ($5,300 DK / $5,400 FD) at Denver Nuggets – Caris LeVert is already listed out and Kyrie Irving is questionable for tonight. Both would see increased roles if Irving misses.
Derrick Favors ($5,500 DK / $6,600 FD), Kenrich Williams ($4,500 DK / $4,700 FD) and J.J. Redick ($4,500 DK / $5,000 FD) vs. Los Angeles Clippers – New Orleans is banged up to say the least. As of right now, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart are listed at out while Brandon Ingram and Jahlil Okafor both carry questionable tags. If one or both miss you can put a production bump on all three of these players.
Taj Gibson ($4,400 DK / $4,500 FD) vs. Dallas Mavericks – Rising from the dead, Gibson has logged 22+ minutes in three of his last four games and has produced. Just way to cheap tonight again.
