Last night went just as expected. In Kyrie Irving’s second game back his minutes restriction pulled and dropped a slate high 63.25 fantasy points. You also had Kevin Huerter go all Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, nearly pulling off the triple double going for 23/15/8.
Maybe we will have some closer games tonight as none of the six games yesterday was closer than 11 points. Houston welcomes Russell Westbrook back with the highest game total at 236 as they host Portland with the Washington and Chicago matchup coming in at 229 for the second highest on the slate.
Top of the Key
De’Aaron Fox ($8,000 DK / $8,100 FD) vs. Dallas Mavericks
Fox has been on an absolute tear his past three games.
36, 38, 37 minutes played
43, 56, 60 fantasy points scored
21, 21, 18 field goal attempts
6, 10, 10 assists
Basically every stat has been off the chart. Tonight, Richaun Holmes is already and Bogdan Bogdanovic is likely to miss the game. With those two off the court, the Kings point guard sees a 3.16 usage bump and a 5.33 fantasy point increase.
Fox is likely to see 35+ minutes in a good matchup against the Mavericks as they recently let Ben Simmons (43.25) and LeBron James (69) drop huge fantasy point games recently.
Malcom Brogdon ($6,700 DK / $6,800 FD) at Minnesota Timberwolves
After missing five consecutive contests, Brogdon did not have to shake off much rust as he dropped 46 fantasy points in 34 minutes. He also filled the stat sheet with seven rebounds and nine assists.
He now gets a matchup with the Timberwolves who rank 21st against the point guard position. The game is currently at a 2.5 spread in favor of the Pacers, so with a projected close game Brogdon should see his minutes be in the 32-35 range again.
Baseline Looks
Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.
Davis Bertans ($5,500 DK / $5,000 FD) at Chicago Bulls – Bertans has logged 21 and 26 minutes since returning from injury and if he can push those towards the 30 mark he should be in line to exceed his price point tonight. Before his injury he was priced all the way up to $7,000 so we can jump back on board tonight before the price gets too high.
Trevor Ariza ($4,200 DK / $4,500 FD) and Cory Joseph ($3,100 DK / $3,800 FD) vs. Dallas Mavericks – Holmes is already ruled out and Bogdanovic is likely to miss tonight’s game. Someone has to pick up the minutes.
Luke Kornet ($3,100 DK / $3,800 FD) vs. Washington Wizards – Could this be our dirt cheap center like Jahlil Okafor and Damian Jones the past two night? Highly unlikely. He has played 25 and 22 minutes his past two times out however. The Bulls have six people currently listed at game time decisions and Wendell Carter Jr. is set to miss an extended amount of time. Could be an opportunity if some of the Bulls get ruled out.
