Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 8/6/20

A later lock today without the early game on the slate so we have a little more time to dig in!

We have a great five game slate today both for DFS and for viewing. Each of the games today should be highly entertaining to watch with some of the top teams squaring off.

A few key players have been ruled out already and there could be a few more to come as the day moves forward. Make sure to keep up on the injury news!

Top of the Key

Paul George ($7,800 DK / $7,700 FD) at Dallas Mavericks

George has not been playing exceptionally well since the bubble games have started but I think at his sub-8K salary on both sites today he is worth a shot in tournaments if you are looking for more of a balanced build.

He has seen his DK scoring drop from 47 to 43 to 39 in his past three games but with the second highest projected scoring game on the slate, this could be the ideal bounce back opportunity for the Clippers forward.

Last time out against Phoenix he shot an uncharacteristically 35 percent from the field on 6-17 shooting. He is still getting his volume so if he can push his shooting percentage closer to the 50 percent mark and chip in with a few steals and blocks, he would be a sure bet to exceed his salary today.

Bam Adebayo ($7,700 DK / $7,800 FD) at Milwaukee Bucks

Like George, Adebayo is also off to a slow start compared to what he was doing before the shutdown took place. He did however notch his first double double since the return in their last game against Boston.

Jimmy Butler is out again today and could set up well for Adebayo as he gets a nice boost with Butler off the court. In 761 minutes this season, he sees just a 1.41% usage increase but a 9.32 fantasy point increase.

I do like his matchup today with Milwaukee as Miami will be playing way up in pace. Adebayo put two respectable games of 49 and 45 fantasy point games against the Bucks already this season and has the opportunity to travel into the 50 point range today.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Gary Trent Jr. ($4,400 DK / $3,900 FD) at Denver Nuggets – Portland has really shortened up their rotation in the past two games and Trent Jr. has found his way into that mix. He has logged 34 and 35 minutes during that time and at his price, he is hard to pass up.

Dion Waiters ($3,700 DK / $3,800 FD) at Houston Rockets – If you are going for a low salary guy today, there are much safer options then Watiers but he does one of the higher ceilings in this range. Last game he shot 5-13 from the field and 0-4 from three and still managed 24 DK points. Crazier things have happened since the return. Remember Trey Burke the other night?

Tyler Herro ($3,600 DK / $3,900 FD) at Milwaukee Bucks – With Butler out today, this price tag is too cheap for his upside. I cannot imagine he does not see 20+ minutes today.
