Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 8/24/20

To kick off our Monday, we could possibly be looking at our last four game slate of the playoffs as the Miami Heat look to punch their ticket to the second round with a sweep over the Indiana Pacers.

The remaining three games all sit at 2-1, however, the Bucks and Lakers have looked dominant their past two games after dropping the opener in the series.

Game spreads and totals look similar to each of the previous matchup, so let’s take a look at some targets on today’s slate.

Top of the Key

Malcom Brogdon ($7,500 DK / $7,600 FD) at Miami Heat

Brogdon had a career game last time out and if the Pacers look avoid the sweep today, their point guard is going to have to duplicate his performance from Saturday.

In that game, the racked up 69 DraftKings points on 11-17 shooting while adding 14 assists and 7 rebounds. He also played 43 minutes, the most for him in any game since the return.

During bubble games, Brogdon has a solid 23.3% usage rate, second highest among starters.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($7,400 DK / $7,000 FD) vs. Houston Rockets

Gilgeous-Alexander has picked up his play since the playoffs has started as he has dropped 45 and 52 DK points in the past two matchups against Houston.

His minutes have also been trending up as he logged 35, 37 and 48 minutes in the first three games of the series and has become more of a focal point in the offense. SGA is also contributing in the peripheral stats as he collected seven rebounds and distributed six assists on Saturday.

I really like this game to target as a whole as it could go overlook due to the pricing on most of the players. The Thunder also see a +9.13 pace increase which should lead to more fantasy opportunites.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

DJ Augustin ($4,600 DK / $5,000 FD) vs. Milwaukee Bucks – Augustin has been seeing upper 20’s for his minutes in the series, and he could be an ownership pivot over starter Markelle Fultz.

Tyler Herro ($5,500 DK / $5,000 FD) vs. Indiana Pacers – Three Heat players are currently listed at game time decisions. If any combination of those players miss, Herro should pick up a few extra minutes. He is averaging 1.01 fantasy points per minute since the return.

Alex Caruso (3,700 DK / 4,100 FD) at Portland Trailblazers – My interest in Caruso will be reduced if Rajon Rondo makes his debut, but if he is out again Caruso has averaged 24 minutes in the three games against Portland. He had his best game of the series last time out when he went for 27 DK points.
