Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 8/19/20

In day two of the playoff bubble, the unexpected happened. Both number one seeds fell and neither looked particularly good at any point in the game. It will be interesting how both teams bounce back tomorrow.

Today we return to the eight teams that played on Monday, which was a great set of our games. We will see if Boston can keep their momentum going about Philadelphia as they lost one of the main contributors in Gordon Hayward for an extended period of time.

Brooklyn versus Toronto matchup is interesting, as they seem to all be priced for a blowout. The game has an 11.5 point spread but also has the second highest game total at 226.5.

We have the Clippers and Mavericks rounding out the slate today with a slate high 229.5 game total and we will see if Dallas can even the series with (hopefully) a full game from Kristaps Porzingis.

Top of the Key

Joel Embiid ($9,900 DK / $9,300 FD) vs. Boston Celtics

I just have a feeling that this could be an absolute blow up game for Embiid against the Celtics today. Philadelphia does not want to go down two games and their success rests solely on their big man inside.

Embiid sees the biggest usage bump (+2.54) and fantasy points increase (+3.04) with Ben Simmons off the court this year, per 48 minutes. His usage rate has jumped up to an insane 37.4% with Simmons off the court in bubble games so far so all paths have been leading through him.

Boston has been less then superb defending the center position in their last five games as they have allowed an average of 40.4 fantasy points per game during that time.

Kemba Walker ($6,800 DK / $6,900 FD) at Philadelphia 76ers

Walker has been easing himself back into action since the restart and if there were ever a time to give him a full run, today would be a good day to start.

With Hayward going down with an injury last game, this opens up an opportunity for Walker to step up. With Hayward off the court this season, the Celtics guard benefits the most with a +2.3 fantasy point increase and +1.15% usage rate in 48 minutes.

His price point is appealing as he is just under Jamal Murray who is coming off a great game and Walker could be a great ownership pivot today.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Seth Curry ($3,300 DK / $4,400 FD) at Los Angeles Clippers – He could see Jordan Clarkson ownership from the other day, but at that price I am fine with that. He is involved with the offense and logged 33 minutes last game. I do prefer Alec Burks over Curry on FanDuel for the $300 discount.

Jermi Grant ($4,600 DK / $4,700 FD) vs. Utah Jazz – Grant was on the court over starter Paul Milsap late in the game Monday when the Nuggets were running out a small ball lineup. I am not sure we will get 40 minutes out of him today but the way he can fill up the stat sheet, if he can reach the 35-minute mark I like his chances of hitting value.

Joe Harris (5,000 DK / 5,400 FD) at Toronto Raptors – I do not really get this price on Harris. He is essentially the number two option on the Nets. He will be one of my core plays today in both cash and tournaments.
