Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” 8/10/20

We are now heading into the final week of the “regular” season before the seeding games and it kicks off with a five game slate to help us battle the Monday’s.

There already has been some studs ruled out on the slate and I can imagine more will trickle in during the day. We already know the Mavericks are resting Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis so that gives us some value in Dallas.

Each game today has a game total set in the 220’s, so there is not one that sticks out above another as far as scoring goes.

Top of the Key

Nikola Jokic ($9,100 DK / $8,500 FD) at Los Angeles Lakers

The Nuggets are still looking to lock up the number two seed for the playoffs, so unless they decide to give some of their players a rest day, I imagine they will all see their full complement of minutes.

Jokic comes in to the game with three straight double doubles doing it in all different ways. Over his past five contests, he is averaging 22.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 9.4 assists. The Lakers are stingy on defense against the center position but the Nuggets big man dropped 54 DraftKings points against them back in February.

In Jokic’s past five games, he has a 29.45 usage rate and averaging 1.36 fantasy points per minute. Sounds like a good recipe for his fourth straight double double.

Devin Booker ($8,700 DK / $8,200 FD) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Believe it or not, the Suns still have a chance. They are in must win mode the rest of the season and will be relying on Booker to help them sneak into the playoff picture.

Booker has been putting up solid stats over his past five games with 28.2 points and 6.6 assists and a 35% usage rate. If he can find his shooting stroke against a resting thunder team, he could out preform his 1.24 fantasy point per minute production tonight.

The Sun’s team total currently sits at 115, which is a pretty healthy number. If they hit that number or eclipse it, Booker will probably have something to do with that.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

JJ Barea ($3,000 DK / $3,500 FD) at Utah Jazz – Expected to start for Doncic tonight. He has proven to be a good fantasy option in the past and at that price tag he doesn’t have to do a whole lot to hit value tonight.

Jordan Clarkson ($5,000 DK / $4,400 FD) vs. Dallas Mavericks – This is more of a tournament play if Donovan Mitchell suits up but he is currently listed as a game time decision. If Mitchell sits, Clarkson would be a viable option in all formats.

Ersan Ilyasova (3,500 DK / 3,500 FD) vs. Toronto Raptors – This play all depends on if Giannis Antetokounmpo plays tonight. The Bucks have the third game on the slate so we might not get that news before lock but if he is ruled out, I will be making some pivots to get Ilyasova into my lineups.

Brooks – 134 total minutes – 0.84 DK / 0.82 FD fantasy points per minute

Clarke – 109 total minutes – 0.82 DK / 0.84 FD FPPM
