Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 2/4/21

Thursday features five games in which four teams are playing on the second half of their back-to-back and one on the front end. Lock time is a half hour later today at 6:30 CT and wrapped up with a standalone 9:00 CT game with the Denver Nuggets facing the Los Angeles Lakers.

The two games to kick off the slate, Dallas versus Golden State and Utah versus Atlanta, have the highest game totals for tonight at 228.5 and 227.

As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!

Top of the Key

Nikola Jokic ($11,000 DK / $11,000 FD) at Los Angeles Lakers

Jokic is my preferred pay up option on tonight’s slate as he continues to make a case for this year’s MVP.

Averaging 35.8 minutes per contest, the Nuggets big man is raking up 1.62 DK FP and 1.59 FD FP with a 31.4% usage rate. He is also leading their team in total rebounding opportunities at 19.5%

He is nearly averaging a triple double on the season also, averaging 26.8 points, 11.8 rebounds and 8.6 assists.

The Lakers have been fairly week against the center position this year and have allowed over 42.5 DK FP in four out of their last five games.

Kristaps Porzingis ($7,700 DK / $7,500 FD) vs. Golden State Warriors

Porzingis looks like he is back into shape after missing much of the season with injury as he has logged 34 minutes in his past two games and has scored 40 plus fantasy points in those contests.

Now that we are getting a full run of minutes from him his 1.14 FPPM looks a lot better then when we were getting mid-20 minute run.

Of the Mavericks starters, he ranks second with a usage rate of 26.2 behind Luka Doncic.

He also draws a great matchup tonight against the Warriors as they have let up some big games to the power forward position over the past week, most notably when Naz Reid dropped 44.25 DK FP against them on January 27.

With a 115 team-implied total, I want to get a piece of Dallas and Porzingis won’t break the bank to roster.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Kevin Huerter ($5,500 DK / $4,500 FD) vs. Utah Jazz – I much prefer his price on FanDuel today compared to DraftKings. He is seeing a ton of minutes playing at least 38 in three of his last four games. Minutes equals money!

Monte Morris ($4,200 DK / $3,800 FD) vs. Los Angeles Lakers – Morris, who is seeing mid-20’s minutes, is the likely candidate to fill in for an injured Gary Harris. If that is the case he shouldn’t have a problem reaching 30-plus tonight.

Draymond Green ($5,200 DK / $5,800 FD) vs. Dallas Mavericks – I am never a fan of rostering Green, but he will be forced into more minutes because of the injuries to the frontcourt of the Warriors. Barring injury or foul trouble, he should be a lock for 30 minutes tonight.
