Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 2/2/21

Well, last night was a wacky night. Between the massive blowouts and the postponement on the stand along late game, luck had to be on your side if you made some cash yesterday.

Luckily, everyone was playing with house money as DraftKings, FanDuel and SuperDraft refunded all players their net losses. Kudos to them!

As we roll into Tuesday, hopefully we got that out of the way early in the week. Today, we have nice six game slate highlighted by two games projected over 240 points.

The slate locks at the normal weekday 6:00 CT time and we have two games in the late block starting at 9:00 PM.

As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!

Top of the Key

Russell Westbrook ($9,100 DK / $10,000 FD) vs. Portland Trailblazers

If you take a peek at Westbrook’s game logs this year, it looks similar to one of the roller coasters that have warning signs on them because you are in for a wild ride. He has been all over the board his past five games as he has scored as little at 27 DraftKings fantasy points and as much as 74.

Coming off the 74 DK FP performance on Sunday, the Wizards were involved in one of the crazier games of the year as they pulled out a 149-146 victory against the Brooklyn Nets. In that game, Westbrook went for 41 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.

On the season, the former MVP has a 30.5% usage rate while averaging 1.41 DK FP and 1.34 FD FP. Over his past five games, he has seen that jump up to a 34.8% usage rate and 1.43 DK FP and 1.31 FD FP.

Both Washington and Portland have been blowout subject candidates in every game this season, but the game spread sits at 2.5 points right now with a 240 total.

If this game stays close, we could be in for another high scoring affair and Westbrook will most likely have a hand in that.

Nikola Vucevic ($8,200 DK / $8,800 FD) vs. Toronto Raptors

At this price I would expect Vucevic to be one of the highest owned players on the slate, but for good reason.

It was announced that Aaron Gordon will miss an extended period of time due to injury, and Vucevic will become the main benefactor because of this.

Averaging 33.2 minutes this season, Vucevic averages 1.36 DK FP and 1.33 FD FP with Gordon on the court. With Gordon off the court, those number increase to 1.40 DK FP and 1.35 FD FP.

His usage also increases during that time by 3.9% on his season rate of 27.8.

I might just have to hit the lock button on Vucevic today and get different elsewhere.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Khem Birch ($4,200 DK / $4,500 FD) vs. Toronto Raptors – I see Birch picking up a lot of Gordon’s minutes here as he has been gaining more playing time over the past week with him in. He has increased his season average of 22.5 minutes to 25.1 and averages 0.87 DK FP and 0.90 FD FP per minute.

Draymond Green ($4,900 DK / 4,900 FD) vs. Boston Celtics – I am never a big fan of playing Green due to his low usage, but with James Weisman ruled out, Green should see some additional run at the center position playing backup minutes to Kevon Looney.

Daniel Theis ($5,000 DK / $4,500 FD) at Golden State Warriors – I think Theis will go under owned tonight against a depleted frontcourt of the Warriors. His price on DraftKings is a little expensive but I don’t mine using him as my PF2 on FanDuel.
