Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 2/17/21

We roll into hump day with a massive 10 game slate despite having a few cancelations already. We have not had to deal with this in a while, so hopefully we don’t go back to the trend we seen a few weeks ago.

A few game totals that stick out are the Portland Trailblazers versus the New Orleans Pelicans (237) and the Denver Nuggets against the Washington Wizards (233.5) so they will be some appealing options for us on tonight’s slate.

Along with the Nuggets, the Miami Heat get the biggest pace bump of the night as they take on the Golden State Warriors.

As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!

Top of the Key

Zion Williamson ($8,200 DK / $8,300 FD) vs. Portland Trailblazers

We are getting a really appealing price point on Zion today as he has a really nice chance to exceed value in the highest game total of the night.

Over his past eight games, he has scored at least 44 DraftKings fantasy points with a high of 52 last night.

His season numbers indicate he is the focal point of this team with a 28.4 usage rate and a team high 1.23 DK FP and 1.24 FD FP per minute.

What I really like Williamson is his 8.4% offensive rebounding opportunity which leads him to an insane 61.5 field goal percentage on the season.

Donovan Mitchell ($8,300 DK / $8,100 FD) vs. Los Angeles Clippers

If you have been rostering Mitchell over Jordan Clarkson the past few slates, I also feel your pain. That being said, I am going to go back to him tonight and hope he can break out of his shooting slump.

Over the past three games, he is 24/65 (36.9%). Yikes. The good news is that he continues to chuck up shots. Prior to those three games, he put up 58 and 63 DK FP against the Pacers and Celtics as he hit 43.7% of his shots.

Over the past five games, he has a 34.38 usage percentage and averages 35.6 minutes.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Facundo Campazzo ($3,500 DK / $3,500 FD) at Washington Wizards – Campazzo played 40 minutes last night as Denver is really banged up right now and racked up 37 DK FP. If Monte Morris misses again, I’ll lock him in at the minimum price.

Moritz Wagner ($3,800 DK / $4,400 FD) vs. Denver Nuggets – Wagner has drawn two straight starts and has played 22 and 24 minutes in those games. What really sticks out for him at this price is that he is averaging 4.0 blocks and steals over his past 20 games.

Anthony Edwards ($6,000 DK / $6,000 FD) vs. Indiana Pacers – With D’Angelo Russell out for four to six weeks, the Timberwolves rookie has really stepped up and has asserted him as one of the team’s top options. Over his past five games, he has taken 16.8 field goal attempts and has a 25% usage rate.
