Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 2/1/21

Monday brings us one of the odder slate of the season so far. Lock time is at 6:30 CT, a half our later than normal, and all of the 10-games tip off within an hour and a half of each other with the Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets matchup wrapping up the slate at 8:00 CT.

As for matchups, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Portland Trailblazers have by far and away the highest projected game total at 236.5.

As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!

Top of the Key

Andre Drummond ($8,600 DK / $8,800 FD) vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

If it’s not broke, don’t fix it right? Drummond gets the same matchup here against the Timberwolves as he did last night where he went for 25 points and 22 rebounds in a 101-107 loss and racked up 62.5 DraftKings fantasy points.

Over his past five games, he has an insane usage rate of 34.35% while averaging 1.71 DK and FD fantasy points per minute.

As always, Minnesota is a great team to target centers against due to their lack of size. In their past two games, they have allowed an average of 60.8 DK FP to the opposing big man.

Drummond has another great opportunity to get another 20/20 game and is severely underpriced, especially on DraftKings.

Ja Morant ($7,600 DK / $7,800 FD) at San Antonio Spurs

I love the upside for Morant at this priced point as they face the Spurs, the same opponent they had on Saturday.

Since the Grizzlies have returned to action three games ago, their star points guard has averaged 31 minutes per game despite only playing 28 minutes on Saturday due to a blowout.

On the season, Morant has a team high 30.4% usage rate while connecting on 53.8% of his field goal attempts. He is also averaging 1.30 DK FP and 1.27 FD FP per minute, also leading Memphis.

This is the third matchup of the season between these two teams and Morant has had a wide variety of outcome. In the first game of the season, he put up 66 DK FP and nearly missed out on a double-double with nine assists.

We have seen a floor game and a ceiling game this year for Morant against San Antonio, and at his price point he has the opportunity return really good value tonight.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Monte Morris ($3,800 DK / $3,900 FD) vs. Detroit Pistons – I don’t mind Morris for a cheap piece today with Gary Harris already ruled out. Over his past five games, Morris has averaged 25.6 minutes and that should slightly increase tonight.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker ($4,800 DK / 4,700 FD) at Sacramento Kings – I really like NAW as a tournament play tonight in a great matchup against the Kings. Last game he got a ton of run with 33 minutes and came through with 38 DK FP and hopefully that continues tonight.

Malik Monk ($3,300 DK / $3,700 FD) at Miami Heat – Terry Rozier was injured last game and Monk was the one to benefit. He didn’t play exceptionally well but did fire up 16 shots in 23 minutes. If Rozier is out, I’ll be interested to see what Charlotte does for a starting lineup.
