Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 12/29/20

After having a slate that was loaded with value last night, that is not the case (so far) today.

There are still plenty of big injury news that we do not have yet (Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard) however, we know Kevin Love and Karl-Anthony Towns will be out again.

As far as high game totals, the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards matchup comes in the highest at 234 while the Minnesota Timberwolves against the Los Angeles Clippers projects at 228.5.

As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!

Top of the Key

Stephen Curry ($9,600 DK / $9,400 FD) at Detroit Pistons

Curry has not had a blow up game this year but he faces a Detroit Pistons team who have already given up big scores to opposing point guards. Last night Trae Young put up 41.25 DraftKings fantasy points against them while Collin Sexton notched 44 DK FP two games ago.

Curry has struggled shooting the ball so far this year only connecting on 38.1% of his shots from the field but does have a team-high 31.3 usage percentage.

He has been producing elsewhere; per minute this season, he is averaging 1.42 DK FP points per minute and 1.39 FanDuel FP.

He played 36 minutes in the Warriors only close game of the year and with a -3.5 spread, it should be close enough for him to log at least 35 tonight.

Zion Williamson ($8,100 DK / $8,600 FD) at Phoenix Suns

His price has increased every game so far, but I still believe there is still some meat on the bone for the Pelicans star to exceed his price in value.

Williamson has played back-to-back 38-minute games as new Pelicans coach Stan Van Gundy has shortened up the team’s rotation only using eight players. This opportunity really increases his ceiling as he averages 1.26 DK FP and 1.22 FD FP per minute this season.

He has been highly efficient in three games this season shooting 62.1% from the field with a 29.6% usage rate.

I really like his matchup with the Suns tonight and could even see myself pairing him with Brandon Ingram in tournaments.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Naz Reid ($5,100 DK / $4,500 FD) at Los Angeles Clippers – Reid drew the start at center as Towns missed last game with a wrist injury and logged 28 minutes. He draws a somewhat difficult matchups against the Clippers but I don’t mind him as my second power forward on FanDuel at his price.

Oto Porter Jr. ($5,400 DK / $4,300 FD) at Washington Wizards – Markkanen left last game with an injury and is listed as a game-time decision. Porter Jr. has been coming off the bench so far this season but if Markkanen is ruled out, he could get a slight minutes bump even if he continues to come off the bench.

Tyler Herro ($5,700 DK / $4,500 FD) vs. Milwaukee Bucks – Herro’s appeal rests on the availability of Butler tonight. If Butler does play, I still don’t mind his price on FanDuel, however, the price on DraftKings is a little steep. If Butler is ruled out, I think he could be in cash consideration on both sites.
