Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 12/23/20

After a small two game slate to kick off the season yesterday, we have a huge 13-game slate to get through with everyone in action besides the four teams that played yesterday.

Some things we can take away from yesterday; Brooklyn looks good, Golden State looks bad. If Paul George can continue his play as he did last night, the Clippers are going to be a tough team to deal with. Easy enough, right?

As for tonight, we already have some contact tracing issues with the Houston Rockets and you can expect more issues as the day moves forward.

As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!

Top of the Key

Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,700 DK / $9,400 FD) vs. Detroit Pistons

Towns opens the season with an excellent matchup against the Pistons having to square off against Mason Plumlee. With a 115 team-implied total, he could be overlooked with the other studs on the slate.

In 35 games last season, he averaged 26.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists with a 28.8% usage rate.

He also shot 41.2% from the three-point line making him an even better play on DraftKings with the three-point bonus.

Zach LaVine ($7,900 DK / $7,900 FD) Atlanta Hawks

LaVine always seems as if he hovers around a weird price point. He is rarely priced up as one of the studs, but never slips into the $6,000 range.

I love LaVine for tournaments tonight as he has the ability to be one of the highest scoring players on the slate. He is in a great matchup tonight against the Hawks with a game total currently at 233, tied for the largest tonight.

In 60 games last season, the Bulls guard averaged 25.5 points, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals with a 31.7% usage rate.

He was also one of the better preforming players this preseason as he averaged 19.8 points in four games.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Christian Wood ($6,300 DK / $6,400 FD) at Oklahoma City Thunder – The status of James Harden, John Wall and Demarcus Cousins is up in the air right now. If any one of them miss, Wood becomes an excellent play against the Thunder.

Domantas Sabonis ($7,400 DK / $7,800 FD) vs. New York Knicks – TJ Warren is currently listed as a game time decision. I love Sabonis in all formats tonight but if Warren cannot go, there will be an even greater opportunity for Sabonis against the Knicks.

Patrick Williams ($3,000 DK / $3,500 FD) vs. Atlanta Hawks – Priced at the minimum on both sites, he looks to be projected in the starting lineup. If he is, Williams becomes one of the better salary saving options in tournaments tonight.
