After a short break, the NBA returns from their “off-season” and kicks off with a two game slate before we are hit with a massive 13-game slate tomorrow.
The night begins with the new look Brooklyn Nets facing the already injured Golden State Warriors while the night cap features the champion Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Los Angeles Clippers.
We will not have much to go off for these first few games with a limited preseason, but there is still money to be made so let’s get after it!
Top of the Key
Anthony Davis ($10,000 DK / $10,600 FD) vs. Los Angeles Clippers
I am going to roll with Davis as my high priced guy tonight as I am not really in love with the center position on DraftKings. Although used sparingly in preseason, he put up 35 points, six rebounds and three assists against the Suns last Friday. He averaged 22.5 points in 23 minutes during the preseason.
Looking back at last season in the bubble, he averaged 1.29 DraftKings points per minute and 1.28 FanDuel points per minute with a 28.6 usage rate.
I will make it a point to have Davis as a staple in my lineups tonight.
Stephen Curry ($9,300 DK / $8,700 FD) at Brooklyn Nets
As Curry returns from a lost season where he only played in five games, it will only be a matter of time until we see the former MVP’s salary touching the 10k mark.
He has looked good so far in the preseason in three games, averaging 22.7 points in 26.1 minutes. Curry also has contributed with 3.3 assists and 2.3 steels.
With the Warriors being shorthanded, Curry should have ample opportunities to put up huge numbers tonight.
Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.
Eric Paschall ($3,800 DK / $4,900 FD) at Brooklyn Nets – Already down Klay Thompson, Draymond Green is not expected to play tonight leaving a starting opportunity open for Pascall. He performed well at times last season, and looks to be underpriced tonight.
Luke Kennard ($3,600 DK / $4,000 FD) and Nicholas Batum ($4,100 DK / $3,500 FD) at Los Angeles Lakers – Both Kennard and Batum should see more run tonight with Marcus Morris on the injured list. Early starting projections have Batum with the starting nod but I might lean Kennard tonight to get more usage with the second unit.
