We finally got our blow up game from Luka Doncic as returned from injury and torched the Houston Rockets for 72 DraftKings fantasy points and 60.7 FanDuel FP. Another interesting observation is that seven of the nine games were decided by 10 points or more.
Value was hit and miss yesterday. Payton Pritchard and Kelly Olynyk both played excellent; however, most of the Detroit Pistons value, as in Saddiq Bey and Delon Wright, failed to reach value.
Rolling into Tuesday, we have a much more manageable five game slate with only a few pieces of injury news we are waiting for. Most notably is the status of LeBron James who is apparently going to have a game time decision to his name all season.
As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!
Top of the Key
Zach LaVine ($8,000 DK / $8,000 FD) at Portland Trailblazers
The Bulls will once again be shorthanded tonight with four of their players ruled out including Lauri Markkanen. This will open up more usage and playing time from anyone on Chicago.
With the four players listed out, LaVine gains a 4.26 fantasy point increase this season to go along with his team high 31.1 percent usage rate. He is also coming off his best game of the season where he connected on 14-25 shots from the field.
On the season, LaVine is averaging 19.81 field goal attempts per game while Portland has allowed opponents to shoot 48.2% from the field.
The game total is currently set at 232.5, 6.5 points higher than any other game, so this game is one I will want to target.
Caris LeVert ($6,600 DK / $6,100 FD) vs. Utah Jazz
With Kevin Durant out for heath protocols, I expect LeVert to be one of the highest owned players on both sites at his price point.
Over the past three games, he has been averaging around 25 minutes per contest but I would expect an increase to 30-plus tonight.
As for playing without Durant, his massive 30.6 percent usage rate has to get spread out. LeVert should see a bumb here running the second unit to his current 26.5 usage rate on the season.
We have already had one ceiling game from LeVert this season when he scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Memphis and he has the opportunity to do so again today.
Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.
Timothe Lawawu-Cabarrot ($3,700 DK / $4,100 FD) vs. Utah Jazz – Projected to step into the starting lineup tonight, TLC is looking like one of the better value plays on the board tonight as he is projected to log 25-30 minutes.
Talen Horton-Tucker ($3,400 DK / $3,500 FD) at Memphis Grizzlies – This solely rests on James statues for the game. If he is ruled out, we can add THT to our value pool tonight.
Jarrett Culver ($4,400 DK / $4,600 FD) at Denver Nuggets – Culver played 28 minutes last game with Josh Okogie out and played his best game of the season. If Okogie is out again, Culver enters both cash and tournament player pools for me.
