Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 1/4/21

The late breaking news was particularly important last night as Luka Doncic was ruled out opening the door for a ton of value from the Dallas Mavericks, in particular Jalen Brunson. The Mavericks are on the second game of the back-to-back tonight and Donic is again listed as a game time decision.

We also had huge games from Stephen Curry, Zach LaVine and the Brooklyn stars all going for over 50 fantasy points.

Tonight we have some injury news we are waiting for in addition to Doncic. James Harden and Blake Griffin are also players we need to keep our eye on.

As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!

Top of the Key

Stephen Curry ($9,300 DK / $9,500 FD) vs. Sacramento Kings

Coming off a career-high 62 points on 18-31 shooting, including eight three pointers, Curry get another great matchup against the Kings.

Last night was his first blowup game of the season as he was able to finally get hot from the field. He also added five rebounds and four assists en route to 75.75 DraftKings fantasy points and 69 FanDuel FP.

Curry leads the Warriors in usage this season at 34.3 percent and has also played a team-high 200 minutes in five games.

Golden State currently has a team implied total of 115 while being a 2.5 point underdog. As of now, this game has a five point higher total than any other does, so we will want multiple players from the late night hammer.

Julius Randle ($9,000 DK / $8,100 FD) at Atlanta Hawks

Randle has been steady this year but has flashed 50 fantasy point upside twice in six games. He is also logging big minutes every night playing at least 35 minutes in each contest.

In their matchup with the Hawks tonight, the Knicks get the third highest pace bump on the slate and the game total is projected at 222.5. With New York having multiple players out already or listed at game time decisions, Randle will have to carry the workload once again.

On the season, he leads the team with a 25.8% usage rate and has connected on 49.5% of shots from the field. Randle’s price might be a little high for cash game lineups, but I like him as a tournament play tonight.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Jalen Brunson ($3,300 DK / $4,500 FD) at Houston Rockets – Should Donic miss again tonight, Brunson will once again be one of the best values on the board. Filling in last night he played 38 minutes and scored 31 points.

Saddiq Bey ($3,900 DK / $4,200 FD) at Milwaukee Bucks – Blake Griffin and Josh Jackson are both on the injury report. If they are ruled out and Bey gets the starting nod he will be another value piece we can look at. In both his starts this season he played 30 minutes in each contest.

Collin Sexton ($7,200 DK / $7,100 FD) vs. Orlando Magic – Darius Garland is listed as a game time decision and if he sits, Sexton could pick up some of Garland’s 21.7% usage.
