Snoop’s NBA “2-3 Zone” – 1/22/21

Friday brings us one of the bigger slates of the season we had to far this year. We have 11 games to cap off the work week even with two games postponed due to health concerns.

Overall, a majority of the teams are healthy and we already got our big injury news piece of the day as Kevin Durant will sit out the front half of the Brooklyn Nets back-to-back.

As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!

Top of the Key

James Harden ($10,800 DK / $10,700 FD) at Cleveland Cavilers

We get a price discount on Harden today with Kevin Durant ruled out although Kyrie Irving is back in the mix.

This will be the first game that Harden has played without Durant since joining the Nets, but also the first game where we have a Harden and Irving combination.

Harden did have two massive games when only Durant was playing, and I would expect him and Irving to garner much of the usage for Brooklyn tonight. On the season, Durant had a team high 31.8 usage percentage that has to get spread out somewhere.

Since joining the Nets, Harden has a 29.7 usage percentage and that could take a huge jump tonight with KD out.

Kristaps Porzingis ($8,100 DK / $8,400 FD) at San Antonio Spurs

The unicorn finally broke out last game as he scored a season high 27 points on 12-of-15 shooting while adding 13 rebounds. He now draws a tough matchup with the Spurs in one of the highest game totals on the night.

In a limited sample this season, he has a 26.6 usage percentage and is grabbing 15.1% of the teams rebounding opportunities including 8.8% on the offensive side.

Porzingis has had luck in the past against San Antonio as he put up 57 FD FP against them last February.

Baseline Looks

Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.

Norman Powell ($4,300 DK / $4,800 FD) vs. Miami Heat – Kyle Lowry was added to the injury report today and if he is ruled out, Powell becomes one of the better values of the slate as he will more than likely slide into the starting lineup.

DeMarcus Cousins ($4,400 DK / 4,500 FD) at Detroit Pistons – With Christian Wood already ruled out, I expect Cousins to be one of the highest owned players tonight, but for good reason.

Kendrick Nunn ($5,400 DK / $6,200 FD) at Toronto Raptors – His price point has jumped up quite a bit lately, but I still think he can be in play if Tyler Herro is ruled out again. Goran Dragic is also listed on the injury report and if he also misses, Nunn becomes an auto-play for me tonight.
