As we kick off a new week, we have games and slates scattered throughout today for Martin Luther King Jr. day, with the main slate being four games beginning at 6:30 CT.
One of the first two games on the slate features a powerhouse matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks traveling to face the Brooklyn Nets with a game total currently at 239.5.
The shorthanded Houston Rockets versus the Chicago Bulls starts a half hour later, followed by the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers in the night cap.
As always, we will be discussing the slate throughout the day in our Discord, so make sure you head over to our premium membership page to get signed up!
Top of the Key
Christian Wood ($8,900 DK / $9,800 FD) at Chicago Bulls
One of the lone bright spots for Rockets this year, Wood has been putting up huge numbers all season and should continue tonight with an excellent matchup with the Bulls.
Houston will be without John Wall tonight so they will have to rely heavily on their big man. With Wall and James Harden off the court this year, Wood has a 28% usage rate.
His minutes floor is solid as he has played 35 and 41 minutes in his past two games and has been a rebounding machine pulling down 33 during that time.
I love his price on DraftKings and will also be one of my top pay up spots on FanDuel tonight.
Chris Boucher ($7,100 DK / $6,100 FD) vs. Dallas Mavericks
Boucher has finally been given extended run and has not disappointed. He has seen at least 30 minutes in his last three games.
Over his past five games, he is averaging 20.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.8 blocks plus steals resulting in 1.44 DK FP and 1.51 FD FP per minute.
Despite him not cracking the starting lineup yet I’ll go back to him once again until his price rises.
Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.
Jalen Brunson ($4,000 DK / $3,900 FD) at Toronto Raptors – There could be an opportunity for Brunson to pick up a few more minutes today if Tim Hardaway Jr. can’t play. Without much value on the slate, Brunson is showing up as one of the better options so far.
Lauri Markkanen ($6,700 DK / 6,100 FD) vs. Houston Rockets – Markkanen has played 35 and 33 minutes since returning from injury so he clearly does not have a restriction. Chicago will also be without Otto Porter Jr. tonight leaving Markkanen underpriced on both sites.
Brook Lopez ($5,600 DK / $5,300 FD) at Brooklyn Nets – Lopez has put up two straight games of 30 or more fantasy points and with a game total at 239.5, he is one of the cheaper options to get a piece of that game.
