The NBA bubble is sure giving us things we could not have anticipated. TJ Warren has suddenly looked like the best player who has ever picked up a basketball as he continued his fire streak yesterday. After two 70+ point games, are you going back to him today against Orlando?
As I said in one of the first articles, these slates are weird. Today, we get an entire day to watch basketball with the Milwaukee and the Long Island Nets (Brooklyn’s G League team) tipping off at 12:30 CT. What a way to start the day!
On the other side, the last game of the night should be a great one between Houston and Portland. I am expecting a fast paced, high scoring and high intensity matchup.
Top of the Key
Russell Westbrook ($9,400 DK / $9,600 FD) at Portland Trailblazers
Westbrook, especially this season, loves to face the Trailblazers. In their three matchups earlier, the Rockets guard dropped 69, 70 and 66 DK points.
He has also been playing solid in the two games since the restart with 62 points against Dallas and 51 points against Milwaukee. He nearly missed a triple double against the Mavericks and fell short of a double double against the Bucks. If he can hit the triple double game tonight, I would expect Westbrook to be in most of the top lineups.
Side note – I love the Westbrook/Damian Lillard stack for tonight. We could possibly see two ceiling games from some of the most exciting players in the bubble.
Luka Doncic ($10,700 DK / $11,000 FD) at Sacramento Kings
Doncic is my favorite of the 10k plus guys tonight. I could see the Bucks game getting a little out of hand for Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden will have to do most of his fantasy scoring through actual scoring, which he has proven he can do in his first game. I am going to stick with the consistency and matchup and go with the Mavericks star today.
He has had a solid first two games in the bubble with a triple double in his first game and nearly missing it by two rebounds his last time out against the Suns.
I do not think there is any question Doncic loves playing against the Kings (I wonder why that is?) as he torched them for 71 DK points with a triple double (15 rebounds, 17 assists) back in January. If Sacramento can keep this game close, Doncic should have a field day against the Kings back court.
Here are a few players and situations I will be keeping my eye that could be in good spots depending on how news breaks or players I will look into a little throughout the day.
Malcom Brogdon ($5,400 DK / $6,000 FD) vs. Orlando Magic – I did not expect Brogdon to play 35 minutes last night with his “minute restriction”. No word yet on if this could be a possible rest day but if Brogdon is active and starting he comes in at a very nice mid-tier price point with a ton of upside.
Trey Burke ($3,600 DK / $3,700 FD) at Sacramento Kings – Seth Curry is listed as a game time decision. If he is out this could open a few more minutes to go around. Burke was unbelievably hot in his first game and then did not do much last time out but you see what a hot Trey Burke can still do.
Cameron Payne ($3,200 DK / $3,800 FD) at Los Angeles Clippers – Payne really interests me in this matchup. He has played 19 and 20 minutes in his first two games and I think the Suns want to see if they have something here. I do expect the Clippers to run away with this one so that could actually benefit Payne with some blow out run.
