Another Monday, and rather than focusing on the Groundhog Day-like monotony another week brings, let’s lock in on this perfectly sized 6 game slate of NHL games. We get an extra hour to build our lineups tonight, so make sure your lineups are entered before the 7 pm CST lock. Also, please be sure to check services like Left Wing Lock or Daily Face Off to verify there have been no last minute line shuffling or goalie changes. This article will discuss the one offs you can plug into your lineups to compliment your stacks or with which to start your cash games. Also, our members will be discussing the slate, lineup construction and everything else NHL DFS related in our Discord, so do yourself a favor and find your way to our premium membership page and get signed up so you won’t miss out on the edge our membership provides!

Connor McDavid (EDM) vs OTT

This is where all of your cash game builds should begin tonight. After all, we get one of the greatest scorers of this era taking on the team that has the worst goals allowed average in the NHL. In fact, I think this matchup is so lopsided, I’m not concerned with which lines McDavid will see the most shifts against. After enduring a 3 game point drought (his longest this season), McDavid got back down to business Saturday versus the Flames by putting up 3 points. Expect that or more tonight.

David Perron (STL) vs SJS

This Blues winger has everything you look for in a cash game play: (1) a matchup against a weak defense with bad goalie play, and (2) a hot hand. As for the matchup, it doesn’t get much better that firing pucks at the San Jose defense. The Sharks allow 3.86 goals per game, which is the 2nd worst number in the league, right behind the Senators 3.89. As for his part, Perron has lit the lamp 4 times in the last 4 games, and has notched 12 points in his last 9.

Here are some players that might not be household names and/or who might fly under the radar, but that are in great spots tonight. In short, these are some less well known one offs that will save you some salary in cash games and bolster your GPP stacks.

Alex Tuch (VGK) vs MIN

I have no idea why DraftKings pricing algorithm has managed to leave Tuch’s price so low given his level of production. I mean the guy is still only $4800 after putting up 6 points in the Knights last 4 games including 5 goals. Now in all honesty, his matchup against the Wild isn’t as favorable as we might hope. They play solid defense across the board, and have gotten great goalie play from Kaapo Kahkonen. Still, it’s Vegas baby, and for only $4800 I’ll be glad to roll the dice on Tuch.

Richard Rackell (ANH) vs LAK

Since Rackell plays for the Ducks, I’m assuming that’s why his exceptional play of late has largely gone unnoticed. Over his last 5 appearances, Rackell has put up an impressive 9 points, including 3 goals. In fact, 4 of those points came over the past 2 games Anaheim played in Denver versus the Avalanche. Tonight Rackell gets a much easier matchup as the Ducks welcome the Kings to Anaheim. With his DK price holding at $4500, Rackell makes a killer cash game play tonight.
