So it’s Wednesday and I’ve got the “I let $100k slip through my fingers” blues. However, the beauty of DFS is there’s always tomorrow (and by tomorrow I mean today). Today we get a five gamer, and the slate begins at the usual time, so make sure your lineups are entered before the 6 pm CST lock. Also, please be sure to check services like Left Wing Lock or Daily Face Off to verify there have been no last minute line shuffling or goalie changes.
This article will discuss the one offs you can plug into your lineups to compliment your stacks or with which to start your cash games. Also, our members will be discussing the slate, lineup construction and everything else NHL DFS related in our Discord, so do yourself a favor and find your way to our premium membership page and get signed up so you won’t miss out on the edge our membership provides!
Connor McDavid (EDM) vs OTT
This is an easy one. McDavid is one of the most prolific scorers to ever take the ice. Tonight he squares off with a Senators team that is literally the worst at keeping pucks out of their own net. Please do not overthink this one. Start all your cash game builds with this guy.
Tyler Toffoli (MTL) vs VAN
I don’t think the Habs knew what they were missing when they started the season without Toffoli. Why? They were rolling. Before Toffoli rejoined the team, Montreal was leading the league in goals scored per game. Then, just when their offense was slowing down, Toffoli came back and relit a fire under the Montreal offense. Toffoli has notched four points in his last four games, including three goals. Tonight he’ll face the Canucks, against whom he should have little trouble scoring.
THE FIVE HOLE
Here are some players that might not be household names and/or who might fly under the radar, but that are in great spots tonight. In short, these are some less well known one offs that will save you some salary in cash games and bolster your GPP stacks.
Richard Rakell (ANH) vs LAK
Rakell is on an absolute heater. In the Ducks last six games, he has racked up an unbelievable 12 points, including five goals. Rakell and the Ducks are on home ice tonight to lock horns with the Kings. Two nights ago, these two teams scored a total of 11 goals, and Rakell himself had three points. With his price on DK still under $5k, he should be a cash game lock.
Andreas Athanasiou (LAK) vs ANH
On the flip side of the Ducks vs Kings matchup, there is great value to be found in Andreas Athanasiou. The former Red Wings speedster seems to have settled in nicely to his role on LAK2. Skating on the same line with a veteran like Jeff Carter seems to have allowed him to be able to skate with more confidence when handling the puck. In the 16 games he has appeared in, Athanasiou has managed 10 points, including five goals. More recently, he’s banked five points in the Kings last seven games, and at a DK salary of only $3,200, he won’t have to do much of anything to smash his value.
