Monday rears it’s ugly head, and spits a seven game NHL slate in our bloodshot eyes. Lock comes at the usual time of 6pm CST, so make sure your lineups are entered before then. Also, please be sure to check services like Left Wing Lock or Daily Face Off to verify there have been no last minute line shuffling or goalie changes.
This article will discuss the one offs you can plug into your lineups to compliment your stacks or with which to start your cash games. Also, our members will be discussing the slate, lineup construction and everything else NHL DFS related in our Discord, so do yourself a favor and find your way to our premium membership page and get signed up so you won’t miss out on the edge our membership provides!
Connor McDavid (EDM) vs TOR
The Leafs offense is widely considered one of the very best in the world, but all that offense comes at a cost, and that cost is how effective they are on defense. In fact, Toronto is among the 10 worst teams in the league with an expected goals against of 39.58. Now, the Oilers were just shut out at home by this same Leafs team, so I’m hoping this keeps their ownership down because I’m all over Edmonton tonight.
Nathan MacKinnon (COL) vs SJS
Although the Avs aren’t skating in Colorado tonight, I still love Big Nate as a cash game play. The Sharks have dropped into second worst in terms of goals allowed, giving up an average of 3.89 goals a game. Although the matchup is solid, the Avs aren’t tickling the twine with the same frequency they did last season, so that might keep MacKinnon’s ownership suppressed and that’s perfectly fine with me.
THE FIVE HOLE
Here are some players that might not be household names and/or who might fly under the radar, but that are in great spots tonight. In short, these are some less well known one offs that will save you some salary in cash games and bolster your GPP stacks.
Alex Tuch (VGK) vs MIN
So far this season, Tuch has notched an impressive 13 points over the Knights first 17 games, including seven goals, all while skating in Vegas’ third line. More recently, Tuch is averaging right at three shots on goal per game over his last four games, and has notched three goals in that same span. At a DK salary of only $4,000, I don’t think you can go wrong here.
Mats Zuccarello (MIN) vs VGK
On the opposite side of the Vegas game, we have the spark that has lit the fire in the land of a thousand lakes. Since rejoining the Wild on February 16, Zuccarello has appeared in seven games and accounted for 11 points. Aside from his individual stats, the Wild are 6-1 since Zuccarello’s return. Although his price has steadily crept up to $5,400, but he still well worth the cost.
