It’s Saturday here in the good ‘ol U.S. of A, and while most of the world ramps up for the Super Bowl, we get a nice four game slate to play with. Rosters lock at the usual time of 6:00 pm CST, so make sure your lineups are set by then. Also, please be sure to check services like Left Wing Lock or Daily Face Off to verify there have been no last minute line shuffling or goalie changes.
This article will discuss the one offs you can plug into your lineups to compliment your stacks or with which to start your cash games. Also, our members will be discussing the slate, lineup construction and everything else NHL DFS related in our Discord, so do yourself a favor and find your way to our premium membership page and get signed up so you won’t miss out on the edge our membership provides!
John Tavares (TOR) vs VAN
Vancouver is among the league’s worst defenses. They bleed scoring chances and give up goals like it’s their job. Matthews and Marner are in play, I like the break in price and ownership that Tavares provides, either played soli or as a duo with William Nylander.
Leon Draisaitl (EDM) vs CGY
Last seasons goal scoring leader is picking up right whrre he left off last season. Centering EDM2 and playing a pivotal role on the Oilers top power play unit, Drais should see plenty of opportunities to score
THE FIVE HOLE
Here are some players that might not be household names and who might fly under the radar that are in great spots. They are some less well known one offs that will save you some salary and bolster your stacks.
Anders Lee (NYI) vs PIT
Anders Lee does not come cheap; that is not why he is featured here. So why is he? Aside from his ability to seemingly will the Isles into offensive relevance each night, the matchup with Pittsburgh only looks difficult on the surface, and that should be enough to drive his ownership down enough to make him one of the better +EV plays on the slate.
Ryan Donato (SJ) vs ANH
I know I touted this kid two nights ago in this matchup, and Donato got us an assist. Guess what? I’m going back to the well tonight. He’s still only $3,000 and I still love matchup he’ll get versus the Ducks depth lines tonight.
Adam Henrique (ANH) vs SJ
It had to happen eventually: someone from the Ducks was bound to be featured in an article at some point. The Sharks don’t exactly play lockdown defense, plus they should be they should be sticking Devan Dubnyk between the pipes. Even if SJ goes back to Martin Jones at goalie, I still like Henrique as slow cost play with upside.
