If you guys didn’t know, my part of Texas has been dealing with crazy power outages. It was out for 36 hours straight, and for the last 2 days has been going in and out. So, I’m trying to get this out while I can.. Rosters for this 4 gamer lock 6:00 pm CST, so make sure your lineups are set by then. TOP SHELF
Auston Matthews (TOR) vs OTT
This will be a very short write up: And the winner for most obvious cash game play on a Wednesday night NHL slate goes to….
Connor McDavid (EDM) vs WPG
OK, if I’m being 100% honest, McJesus could certainly win the award for most obvious cash play of the day. However, while this matchup against the Jets is plenty juicy, it’s not nearly as good as the one Matthews and the Maple Leafs have. Still, I don’t think you can ever go wrong playing McDavid at home
Johnny Gaudreau (CGY) vs VAN
The Canucks have developed a reputation as a soft defensive team, and frankly, it’s a well-earned reputation. Vancouver is allowing the 3rd most shots on goal per game, and the 2nd most goals per game. That’s bad. Tonight, Braden Holtby and his 3.75 GAA are in net. Johnny Hockey has been skating well of late, and I look for him to get his tonight.
THE FIVE HOLE
Here are some players that might not be household names and who might fly under the radar that are in great spots. They are some less well known one offs that will save you some salary and bolster your stacks.
Andrew Copp (WPG) vs EDM
When the Jets parted ways with Patrick Laine, Copp moved up to take his place on WPG2. Not long after that, Copp and line mate Nicholaj Ehlers were shuffled up to WPG1 with Schiefele, and the returns so far have been excellent. I look for Copp’s good fortune to continue tonight versus a meh defense with an inconsistent Mikko Koskinen in goal.
Kailer Yamamoto (EDM) vs WPG
While McDavid garners most of the attention of the media, hockey fans, and rival teams, it’s the guys who skate to support the big names that are deserving of a bigger share of the spotlight. One such player is Yamamoto. A great skater with plus hands who always puts himself in a position to contribute, Yamamoto’s game has been forged in the pressure cooker of playing alongside all-world talent like Leon Draisaitl and the aforementioned McDavid. Tonight a Yamamoto/Draisaitl mini might be just what the doctor ordered for winning a GPP.

Coupling various research techniques with the discipline learned earning a JD from Baylor University School of Law, he was able to grind his way up to some entries in the 2017 Draft Kings Spin-O-Rama where he scored a six figure payday. From there he never looked back, and has racked up multiple five figure wins in NHL, MLB and Soccer, and countless four figure paydays in everything from MMA to eSports.
On a personal note, he spent 14 years as an Assistant District Attorney, but now spends his day hanging out with his family, watching his son play baseball and writing NHL and MLB content for DFSHQ.
