I’ve been seeing a lot of nice screenshots, so I’m glad you guys are doing well! Let’s keep it going and bring in the weekend with some takedowns. We have a nicely sized eight game slate tonight. Rosters lock at the usual time of 6:00 pm CST, so make sure your lineups are set by then.
Also, please be sure to check services like Left Wing Lock or Daily Face Off to verify there has been no last minute line shuffling going on.
This article will discuss the one offs you can plug into your lineups to compliant your stacks and ensure your lineup finishes in the green. TOP SHELF
Nathan MacKinnon (COL) vs ANH
It’s kind of like instructions on a shampoo bottle: lather, rinse, repeat. With the way this season is scheduled we’re seeing the same players in the same matchups for a few nights. Although, truth be told, we’d be rostering MacKinnon against almost anyone. What’s not to live about a guy who has put up seven points over four games to start the season.
Jack Eichel (BUF) vs WAS
Caps starting goalie Ilya Samsonov has landed on IR. That will force backup Vitek Vanecek into the starting role. They’ve also gone out and signed the black hole that is Craig Anderson off the scrap heap to back him up. Eichel has yet to find the back of the net this season, but he’s dished out six helpers in his first four games. Tilts just a matter of time, and tonight looks damn good for him to break the drought.
Dylan Larkin (DET) vs CHI
Larkin is off to a nice start this season. In the Wings first four games, he’s notched four points (two goals, two assists). In fact, he’s put up at least 12 DK points in his last three games. I look for him to keep that streak alive tonight against a suspect Blackhawks defense. Specifically, their goalie situation is a joke. Whether they start Malcolm Subban or Chris Delia, Larkin should be able to stuff the stat sheet with ease.
THE FIVE HOLE
Here are some players that might not be household names and who might fly under the radar that are in great spots. Here are some less well known one offs that will save you some salary and bolster your stacks.
Joel Eriksson Ek (MIN) vs SJ
The Sharks generosity on defense is well documented: they ranked amongst the league’s worst in goals allowed per game last season. Although they’ve picked it up over their last couple of contests, nothing I’ve seen leads me to believe they’ve turned some sort of corner. Let’s face facts: Martin Jones and Devan Dubnyk are still their goalies. Ek has done a great job of contributing while flying under the radar on MIN3. He’s notched two goals and an assist so far, and is in a great spot to add to those totals tonight.
Alexander Kerfoot (TOR) vs EDM
The Leafs superstar center Auston Matthews left yesterday’s practice feeling “under the weather”. Whether it’s fatigue or an illness, it looks like Matthews will likely get the night off. With the Tavares line moving up as TOR1, Kerfoot will center Ilya Mikheyev and Mitch Marner on TOR2. Kerfoot is dirt cheap, and rostering him when he’s playing between those two in a decent matchup versus the Oilers defense is almost a lock button play in cash games.
