Moving onto Week 14, we are now finished with bye weeks and so far the schedule has stayed as planned with only one Thursday game and one Monday game. There great matchups one the board this week to target, but let’s take a look at how we did las week.
QB – Deshaun Watson – 20.44 fantasy points
RB – James Robinson – 19.8 FP
WR – Allen Robinson – 10.8
TE – Evan Engram – 5.2
Watson hit his floor game last week against the Colts. We were hoping for more than 20 fantasy points, but he did not sink your lineups entirely.
James Robinson continued his stellar rookie campaign on Sunday as he tallied his eighth touchdown this season and turned in the fifth best performance of all running backs on FanDuel.
Allen Robinson and Engram were disappointments, however, they did see seven and eight targets, but were unable to convert anything to the stat sheet.
Let’s take a look at the plays for Week 14!
Tom Brady vs. Minnesota Vikings – $7,800
Brady is looking to get back on track this week as he has struggled in four of his past five games. He now draws a matchup with the Vikings who rank 25th in defensive pressure this season.
One of the problems the Buccaneers have had this season has been when Brady is under pressure. Brady has attempted 41.5 passes over his past four games, and with the Minnesota defense struggling to pressure the quarterback he should have all day to dissect the defense.
Averaging 2.3 passing touchdowns per game on the season, Brady has the opportunity to eclipse that number on Sunday, making him an even better play on FanDuel which relies more heavily on touchdowns.
Wayne Gallman vs. Arizona Cardinals – $6,000
Since taking over as the main back six weeks ago, Gallman has scored over 13 fantasy points in each of those contests. Last week was the first time he failed to score during that time but still produced a 14-point fantasy day.
Over the past month, his red zone usage has been excellent with 13 rushes (four touchdowns) and three targets.
Gallman is a fairly safe bet for 20 touches at this point and if he can get back on his touchdown streak, he has the chance to exceed his price tag this week against the Cardinals.
Darnell Mooney vs. Houston Texans – $5,100
Mooney’s opportunity has been there lately, he has just struggled to translate that into fantasy production.
Over the past month, the rookie receiver has seen seven targets per game but has only been able to convert them into 3.5 receptions.
This week, he will primarily be matched up against the Texans’ Phillip Gains who has allowed the most fantasy points per pass route of any defensive back on the slate. If there were ever a game for Mooney to convert his targets into receptions, this would be the one.
At his price, he will be one of my favorite low priced tournament plays on Sunday.
Travis Kelcie at Miami Dolphins – $8,200
As we know, the tight end position has been a dart throw all season except for a handful of guys at the top, with Kelcie being one of them.
The Chiefs’ tight end is putting together his typical all-pro year, 6.8 receptions per game, 92 yards and eight total touchdowns. He is priced highest at his position for a reason, but there could be an opportunity to differentiate your lineups by using Kelcie this week.
If we take a similar priced wide receiver in Calvin Ridley this week, his pairing with tight end position will most likely be Logan Thomas who will likely garner some ownership after his last game against the Steelers. By looking at a wide receiver priced similar to Thomas, we fall in the range of Mooney who, as stated earlier, is in a great matchup this week.
Either way, whenever Kelcie is always a great play no matter the matchup but this is a way you can increase the upside in your tournament lineups.
